Circus Performance Honors Border Guards' Dedication

A special circus performance titled "Vó ngựa biên cương" (Hoofbeats on the Border) was held to honor the achievements and dedication of soldiers from Vietnam's Border Guard force. This performance was organized by the Vietnam Circus Federation as the 8th installment of its "Walking Through Time" series, commemorating the 79th anniversary of Vietnam's War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27). The theme "Vó ngựa biên cương" aims to recreate the epic story of soldiers who sacrificed their youth and lives to preserve national sovereignty. According to NSND Tống Toàn Thắng, the scriptwriter and Director of the Vietnam Circus Federation, the performance brought together over 60 performers. These artists include members from the Vietnam Circus Federation, the Vietnam National Theatre of Traditional Stage Arts, and soldiers from the Border Guard. "Vó ngựa biên cương" is not merely a collection of circus acts, songs, and dances; it is the result of long-term planning and aims for a deeper artistic expression. This performance serves as an opportunity to inform the public about the role of the military in contributing to national security and territorial integrity within Vietnam's one-party system, and to show respect for their dedication. The Border Guard plays an indispensable role in maintaining the vast borderlines, combating smuggling, and preventing illegal border crossings, thus ensuring national stability. Such artistic performances are expected to foster public understanding of their arduous duties and sacrifices, and boost morale.
