Phuket Street Performer Queen On Street Finds International Success

Phuket street performer Prapaporn “Fiat” Sreemoung, who performs under the stage name Queen On Street, is continuing to build a career abroad, following in the footsteps of other young musicians who began their journey on the island. Her success highlights Phuket's vibrant street performance culture as a fertile ground for nurturing young talent. Fiat began her musical journey at the age of seven. With support from her father, Fu, also a singer and guitarist, she regularly performed alongside him at various locations across Phuket, becoming a familiar face to locals and tourists, especially on the renowned Bangla Road. Between 2021 and 2022, videos capturing her powerful vocals and electric guitar performances went viral online, garnering significant attention. At just 13 years old at the time, Fiat was praised online for her vocal prowess, confidence, and guitar skills. As her profile grew, Fiat began pursuing opportunities beyond Phuket, participating in music events and competitions overseas. In June 2024, she won first place in an international music competition held in Barcelona, Spain. She also traveled to Europe for new music projects, including recording sessions in Sweden, and released original English-language singles such as “We, Me & I” and “U Can Have It All.” These projects mark her development from a young street performer into a recording artist targeting audiences abroad. One of Fiat’s notable performances was at the “Young Artists for Ukraine” concert in Sweden, where she shared the stage with other young musicians from around the globe. Fiat no longer performs regularly at her former spot on Bangla Road as she increasingly focuses on music projects overseas. However, her journey demonstrates how Phuket's street performance culture can provide young musicians with an early stage to develop their talents and connect with audiences. Like several other emerging musicians from Phuket, Fiat started her career by performing in public and honing her skills within the local community.
