Dr. Ban Sreymom, Governor of Pailin Province, met with Mr. Vladimir Palancica, CEO of Lotus Group and Head of BRICS House in the Kingdom of Cambodia, on August 31, 2026. The meeting aimed to explore investment cooperation in the tourism and agriculture sectors of Pailin Province, a region known for its rich agricultural potential and natural beauty. Pailin Province, located in western Cambodia, boasts significant agricultural resources, including a variety of natural fruits and vegetables, and pristine natural environments suitable for tourism. The discussions focused on the potential for exporting agricultural products to the Russian market and developing tourism based on the province's natural attractions. Governor Ban Sreymom provided an overview of Pailin's geography, the living conditions of its residents, its economy, security, and its overall potential. She expressed the province's interest in leveraging Russian market expertise to identify opportunities for future collaboration, particularly in tourism and agriculture. In response, Mr. Palancica praised Pailin Province's development and pledged to exert maximum effort to meet the needs of the provincial authorities and citizens. He emphasized the strategic importance of strengthening cooperation between Cambodia and Russia, aiming to attract Russian tourists and investors, aligning with the first phase of the Cambodian government's "Pentagonal Strategy" under Prime Minister Hun Manet. BRICS House Cambodia serves as a coordination body for trade and investment cooperation between Cambodia and BRICS countries, facilitating market linkages and collaborative opportunities, especially between Russia and Cambodia.
