Young Generation Key to Strengthening Vietnam-France Ties: Professor

The official visit to France by General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and President To Lam demonstrates Vietnam's special regard for the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and contributes to making the two countries strategic bridges in ASEAN and the EU. Dr. Gildas Tréguier, Secretary-General of the France-Vietnam Health Federation (FSFV), noted that as Vietnam opens further to the world and enters a new stage of development, the demand for experience sharing and closer cooperation with international partners, including France, is growing. He stated that over nearly 40 years of involvement in medical cooperation programmes with Vietnam, bilateral ties have been built not only through major events and government-level agreements but also through the contributions of generations of people. The younger generation is particularly expected to inject new vitality into the bilateral relationship. Vietnam needs to advance high technology, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, green economy, environmental protection, education, and training. Overseas Vietnamese (OVs) offer not only capital but also knowledge, technology, management experience, and access to international markets. Politburo Resolution No. 23-NQ/TW, dated August 2, 2026, places the preservation of the Vietnamese language within the strategic vision of mobilizing resources from the Vietnamese community abroad and promoting Vietnamese cultural values worldwide. This recognition stems from the understanding that the Vietnamese language carries memories, culture, and affection for the homeland, serving as more than just a means of communication. Vietnam views the Republic of Korea (RoK) as a country with a highly developed press sector and hopes to learn more from its Korean colleagues. Furthermore, the Inspection Commission of the Party Central Committee has suggested disciplinary action against the Deputy Minister of Health. Vietnam's progress over the past decades has turned President Ho Chi Minh’s aspiration for a country that would be more dignified and more beautiful into reality in ways that have far exceeded what was initially envisioned. Vietnam always regards its relationship with Russia as an important milestone for jointly building and nurturing traditional friendship and cooperation, deepening ties, and meeting the aspirations of both leaders and peoples.
