Military Council airstrikes on Mindat and Kanpetlet with Y-12 aircraft, arson attack on Ngan Kan village near Mahlaing-Tounsaw townships

Yangon, July 5 It has been learned from local sources that the terrorist military council launched airstrikes on Mindat and Kanpetlet towns in Chin State using Y-12 aircraft. Starting from around 6 AM on July 5th, a Y-12 aircraft from the Taungoo Air Base dropped more than 30 bombs on Mindat and Kanpetlet towns. The extent of casualties from this aerial attack has not yet been confirmed. The terrorist military council launched an offensive with thousands of troops, including People's Militia forces, into Mindat and Kanpetlet towns starting on May 16, 2026. The Chin People's Army (CPA) and allied forces, including the Yaw region resistance forces YDF and YA, have been continuously engaged in blocking attacks and counter-offensives against these columns. It has been reported that the Military Council was able to launch an offensive with a tactical advantage during battles that lasted for over a month. Furthermore, CPU/CPA stated that hundreds of Military Council soldiers were injured during intense battles, and a large number of Military Council soldiers' bodies, prisoners of war, small arms, ammunition, and military equipment were seized. In addition, local residents told the Yangon Khit Thit News Agency that the terrorist military council, which was advancing near the border of Mahlaing and Tounsaw townships in Mandalay Region, set fire to Ngan Kan village. It has been learned that a column of approximately 300 soldiers, which departed from Hnawkan village in Mahlaing township on the morning of July 4th, entered Ngan Kan village and set fire to civilian property. "The military dogs' column entered yesterday and set fire to civilian homes. We don't know yet how many homes were destroyed," said a local resident. Similarly, on July 4th, a suicide drone launched by the terrorist military stationed in Tounsaw town fell and exploded inside Kyaukphoo village, causing civilian homes to catch fire and be destroyed.
