Kachin State calls for cooperation for the purification, perpetuation and propagation of Sasana

A Kachin State government official stated that the state government, departments, and organizations must recognize the mission of propagating Sasana and cooperate for the purification, perpetuation, and propagation of Sasana within the state. State government member for Planning, Economy and Finance, U Chan Than Khin, made this request to the venerable monks at the workshop on reducing Buddhist-related crimes in Kachin State, held at the Sasana Viman in Myitkyina on the morning of June 29. At the workshop, the venerable monks who are patrons led the way, and responsible officials from departments discussed and requested plans that should be jointly implemented to reduce unwanted criminal incidents caused by monks driving motor vehicles and transporting narcotics, as well as to effectively prohibit the indiscriminate acceptance of donations and the posting of inappropriate matters on social media pages. Decisions were made in accordance with the agreement in each sector. It is known that the workshop was attended by the Kachin State Sangha Nayaka Committee, the chief patron monk of Dhamma Rakkhita Monastery in Myitkyina, Agga Maha Pandita Bhaddanta Ketumala, the patron monks, invited monks, and relevant departments and organizations.
