Car Crashes into 5 Motorbikes Outside Ho Chi Minh City Eatery, Injuring Two

A four-seater car unexpectedly veered into a line of five motorbikes parked in front of an eatery under the Chu Y Bridge in Ho Chi Minh City early on September 19, sending some bikes flying over 10 meters and injuring two people. Around 4 a.m., the male driver was operating a four-seater car on Nguyen Bieu Street in Cho Quan Ward. As he approached the area under the Chu Y Bridge, the vehicle abruptly stopped in front of an eatery before accelerating forward, colliding with five motorbikes parked nearby. Some of the motorbikes were flung, with one even ending up on the sidewalk, its wheel broken. Two individuals near the scene were struck by the motorbikes and sustained injuries. Following the initial impact, the car reversed and then repeatedly accelerated forward. Several people from the eatery rushed out to stop the car, opened the door, pulled the driver out, and began shouting at him. Thinh, an employee at the eatery, stated that the driver had a prior dispute with individuals inside the establishment before leaving in his car and then returning. "I, along with several other staff members from the eatery, tried to intervene, but the driver still accelerated and hit my leg," Thinh recounted. At the scene, five motorbikes lay scattered on both sides of the road, damaged. Some were thrown onto the sidewalk, with one losing its front wheel entirely after the accident. According to law enforcement authorities, the incident stemmed from a conflict between the driver and some individuals inside the eatery. Police have taken these individuals to the headquarters for investigation, including alcohol and drug testing.
