Vietnam Reinforces Social Cohesion Through Ideological and Propaganda Work

Vietnam's Communist Party reiterates the paramount importance of ideological and propaganda work (Tuyên giáo) within its overall leadership activities. The primary tasks of this work include advising on the formulation of the Party's lines, policies, and strategies; strengthening the political, ideological, and moral foundations; maintaining unity of will and action within the Party; and protecting the Party's ideological base. This ideological and propaganda work serves not only to disseminate the Party's directives but also as a foundation for consolidating social cohesion and maintaining and enhancing public trust. Under Vietnam's one-party system, the Party's leadership and social stability are significantly influenced by the success of this work. Especially as the country experiences rapid economic growth and deeper engagement with the international community, unifying public consciousness and ensuring unwavering trust in the Party are among the Party's top priorities. In various localities, recognizing this importance, efforts are underway to enhance the effectiveness of ideological and propaganda work by coordinating it with mass mobilization efforts (Dân vận). For instance, in Son La province, over 300 teachers and students who achieved high results in the 2025-2026 academic year were honored. This can be interpreted as part of an effort to publicize the Party's leadership and achievements in education and boost public morale. In Ho Chi Minh City, on the traditional anniversary of ideological and propaganda work, the Party's Propaganda and Mobilization Committee declined flowers and gifts, demonstrating a commitment to integrity in public service and prioritizing the inherent significance of the work. Vinh Long province is working to improve the efficiency of ideological and propaganda work and mass mobilization efforts in the current context. These developments suggest that the Vietnamese Communist Party is strategically employing ideological and propaganda work to ensure social stability and development.
