PVFCCo-Phú Mỹ Achieves International Certification for Greenhouse Gas Inventory

Phú Mỹ Fertilizer and Chemicals (PVFCCo) has achieved international certification ISO 14064-1:2018 for its 2025 greenhouse gas inventory report. The certification was issued by BSI Assurance UK, confirming the data's accuracy and compliance with international standards. The report, independently verified with reasonable assurance and a 5% materiality level, indicated a total greenhouse gas emission of 813,433 tCO₂e for the Phú Mỹ plant in 2025. Notably, this year's inventory expanded to include Scope 3 emissions, covering indirect emissions from chemical raw material procurement, transportation, and waste treatment during production. According to the company, this certification recognizes their efforts in environmental management and emission reduction, demonstrating their international-standard management capabilities and pioneering role in promoting green production. It serves as a foundation for PVFCCo-Phú Mỹ to enhance competitiveness, brand value, and contribute to Vietnam's sustainable development goals and green transition roadmap. PVFCCo plans to further detail Scope 3 emissions, optimize operations, improve energy efficiency, adopt green technologies, and promote emission reduction initiatives across its value chain. This aligns with the government's direction towards Net Zero emissions. ISO 14064-1:2018, established by the International Organization for Standardization, provides principles and requirements for quantifying, managing, and reporting greenhouse gas emissions and removals at the organizational level. It is widely used to enhance transparency in emissions management, support ESG reporting, and meet export market demands. The standard categorizes emissions into three scopes: Scope 1 (direct emissions from owned or controlled sources), Scope 2 (indirect emissions from purchased energy), and Scope 3 (all other indirect emissions in the value chain).
