38th Anniversary of the 8.8 Uprising Day Commemorative Ceremony Led by the NLD Central Executive Committee Held

Ayeyarwaddy Times August 8 The 38th Anniversary of the 8.8 Uprising Day commemorative ceremony was held today, August 8th, at 8:08 AM, under the leadership of the National League for Democracy (NLD) ceremony organizing committee, according to committee members. At the start of the ceremony, a moment of silence was observed for eight seconds in memory of the heroes who sacrificed their lives in the continuous struggles for Myanmar's independence, democracy, human rights, federalism, and against military dictatorship, followed by a public pledge for the Spring Revolution. Subsequently, Dr. May Win Myint, a member of the National League for Democracy (NLD) Central Executive Committee, Duwa Lashila, Acting President of the National Unity Government (NUG), Mann Win Khine Than, Prime Minister of the Federal, and U Aung Kyi Nyunt, Chairman of the Committee Representing the Pyidaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH), delivered speeches. Following this, former political prisoners from the 88 Generation, Ma Thida (Sanchaung) and U Kyaw Htay Oo, along with CDM activist Daw Roti Aung, shared their commemorative remarks, as learned.
