Cambodia Launches 'Living Heritage' Lecture Series to Foster 7 Jan Leaders
The Cambodian People's Party (CPP) has launched a lecture series titled 'Living Heritage: The Value of January 7th.' The initiative aims to honor the contributions of past leaders and instill patriotism and a sense of responsibility in the youth. Hun Many emphasized that the sacrifices of previous generations are the foundation of current peace and development.
On July 12, 2026, the Cambodian People's Party (CPP) organized a series of lectures titled 'Living Heritage: The Value of January 7th' at the January 7th Memorial Hall. The event aims to honor the contributions of past leaders and foster the development of the next generation of leaders. During the event, Men Sam An, a member of the CPP Central Committee, Vice-Chairperson of the High Council of the Monarchy, and Chairperson of the CPP's Mass Mobilization Committee, delivered a keynote address on the theme 'The Journey of Struggle for the National and People's Cause.' This lecture series is designed to provide a platform for past leaders, who are living witnesses to history, to share their experiences in national liberation, national unification, and peace building. Hun Many, a Standing Member of the CPP Central Committee and Secretary General of the Mass Mobilization Committee, expressed his deep gratitude to Men Sam An for gracing the forum as a speaker. Hun Many stated that the lecture series aims to cultivate in the youth an understanding of the value of the sacrifices, heroism, and achievements of past leaders, as well as to foster patriotism, a sense of responsibility, and a commitment to serving the nation. Furthermore, Hun Many praised Men Sam An as not only 'a symbol of the excellence and capability of Cambodian women but also a living witness to true history.' He explained that as a witness to Cambodia's significant historical stages, Men Sam An actively participated in the cause of national liberation and contributed to the stability, peace, and development of the country, leading to the progress seen today. Representing the younger generation, Hun Many expressed profound gratitude for the heroic deeds, sacrifices, and efforts of the previous generation of leaders who continuously struggled for the cause of the nation and its people. He added that the discipline, adherence to leadership principles, and the highest sense of responsibility of these leaders are the crucial foundations that have brought about the current peace, stability, and national development. He emphasized that without the sacrifices of past generations, there would be no present or future for them.
