Bati District Governor Warns Officials Against Exceeding Authority, Causing Citizen Distress

Bati District Governor Sai Vannak has reiterated his directive to subordinates to perform their duties and responsibilities based on the principles of law and current procedures. The governor strongly cautioned against exceeding the scope of authority or carrying out duties contrary to legal principles. This instruction was given during a meeting of the Bati District Administrative Unity Command held on August 5, 2026. The meeting was attended by deputy district governors, heads of administrative departments, chiefs of the three armed forces, and all commune chiefs and secretaries within the district. The agenda included evaluating past work performance and setting future operational directions, aiming to enhance administrative management, public order and security, and resident services. During the meeting, Governor Sai Vannak emphasized, "We, as public officials, must not exceed the law or procedures for any reason, leading to citizens shedding tears. Instead, we should serve the public with sincerity, justice, transparency, and a high sense of responsibility." Concurrently, the governor encouraged officials at all levels to uphold professional ethics, conduct their work based on the rule of law, and improve the quality of public services to enhance residents' trust and confidence in local administration.
