US Embassy Holds '250 Years of Freedom Founders' Exhibit in Cambodia

The U.S. Embassy in Cambodia, in celebration of the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States, held an opening ceremony for the '250 Years of Freedom Founders' exhibition at the American University of Phnom Penh (AUPP). The ceremony was presided over by Chargé d'Affaires a.i. of the U.S. Embassy, Ms. Aleks Zittle, and AUPP President, Dr. Matthew Schenk, according to a press release from the U.S. Embassy in Cambodia. The 'Founders Museum' is an initiative by the White House, an interactive educational exhibition that vividly showcases American history, culture, and the contributions of the nation's founders. The exhibition features a curated collection highlighting the country's founders, significant historical events, and American heroes whose courage and innovation continue to drive the development of the United States. Visitors can scan QR codes on their mobile phones to watch animated videos of prominent American figures sharing their personal stories. Chargé d'Affaires a.i. of the U.S. Embassy, Ms. Aleks Zittle, stated, 'Today, we are delighted to welcome the 250 Years of Freedom Founders Museum back to Phnom Penh. This exhibition has traveled around Cambodia and has also been displayed at American Corner libraries this year. This Founders Museum is a significant part of our 250th-anniversary celebration, offering visitors the opportunity to learn about American history and understand the people and events that helped build the United States.' The '250 Years of Freedom Founders' exhibition at AUPP is part of the U.S. Embassy in Phnom Penh's '250 Freedom Campaign,' showcasing American history and celebrating the enduring achievements of the United States with students, university staff, and the general public in Cambodia. The Founders Museum will be on public display at AUPP from September 18 to October 6, 2026.
