Vietnamese PM Vows to Maintain Inflation Control and Macroeconomic Stability

Vietnamese Prime Minister Le Minh Hung, at the regular government meeting held on September 3rd, expressed unwavering determination towards the national goals of inflation control and macroeconomic stability. The Prime Minister emphasized that the remaining time until the end of the year is short, while the tasks are heavy. He called on all government members to demonstrate the highest sense of responsibility, proactiveness, innovation, creativity, flexibility, and decisiveness in their leadership and operations. The meeting stressed the need for all ministries, sectors, and localities to continue resolutely and effectively implementing the resolutions, conclusions, and directives from the Central Committee, the Politburo, key leaders, and the National Assembly. The Prime Minister instructed them to strive to achieve the priority goals and tasks for 2026 at the highest possible level. Under its one-party system, Vietnam prioritizes macroeconomic stability as a key objective amidst its pursuit of sustained economic growth. Particularly, amidst recent global inflationary pressures and geopolitical uncertainties, maintaining domestic price stability and currency value is crucial for the stability of people's lives and the investment environment. The government aims for a balanced approach combining monetary and fiscal policies to control inflation while promoting economic growth. Furthermore, Vietnam maintains complex relations with China while also valuing international cooperation for economic development. In this context, building a strong domestic economic foundation holds significant importance in its external relations as well.
