Vietnam, Belarus bolster military political education experience exchange

Vietnam and Belarus have agreed to bolster the exchange of experiences in military political education, a move aimed at deepening cooperation between the two nations. Belarus proposed sending its experts to Vietnam to provide training and practical guidance in areas where it excels. Vietnam welcomed this initiative, expressing optimism about the potential for enhanced collaboration. The exchange is intended to elevate the quality of political education within the armed forces of both countries and foster mutual understanding. Vietnam underscored that the Belaya Rus Party of Belarus consistently regards Vietnam and the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) as a priority direction and a leading partner in Southeast Asia, its leader affirmed. Vietnamese leaders stated that Vietnam's foreign policy priorities will be determined by national interests and development needs, while being harmonized with peace, stability, and development in the region and the world. This reflects Vietnam's stance of strategically building relations with the international community while maintaining domestic stability under its one-party system. Furthermore, Vietnam expressed its desire to develop the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with the United States in a stable, substantive, effective, and sustainable manner, contributing positively to peace, stability, and development in the region and beyond, said top leader To Lam. Vietnam also appreciated the US Department of War’s coordination in organizing an event on the “Vietnam Wartime Accounting Initiative” (VWAI) and sought US cooperation in its “500-day campaign” to accelerate the search, collection, and identification of remains of Vietnamese soldiers. The Vietnam-China Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership has also seen steady progress in recent years, with regular high-level exchanges and broader cooperation across various fields. Cultural, educational, and tourism exchanges, people-to-people interactions, and ties between localities have also received greater attention. Vietnam also values its training cooperation with Russia, with Deputy Minister of National Defence Sen. Lieut. Gen. Nguyen Truong Thang highlighting it as a "highlight" during a reception for Sen. Lt. Gen. Vladimir Borisovich Zarudnitsky, Director of the Military Academy of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Russia. This signifies Vietnam's intent to maintain its traditional security partnership. Additionally, Vietnam continues its participation in UN peacekeeping operations. Its Level-2 Field Hospital Rotation 8 is set to replace Rotation 7 at UNMISS in Bentiu, South Sudan, while its Engineering Unit Rotation 5 will replace Rotation 4 at UNISFA. This demonstrates Vietnam's efforts to expand its role in the international arena and enhance its military capabilities. Vietnam has also called on the US Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) to strengthen coordination with Vietnamese ministries, sectors, and businesses to identify and support strategic, high-impact projects, particularly in energy, power grids, digital infrastructure, data centers, aviation, seaports, logistics, and modern transportation.
