US Continues Support for Cambodian Programs, Fostering Trade and Investment

The US Embassy in Phnom Penh, led by Chargé d'Affaires ad interim Aleks Zittle, hosted a meeting in Siem Reap province with health experts, provincial leaders, demining practitioners, and American partners. The meeting aimed to exchange views and strengthen practical cooperation on public health security, demining, and humanitarian support for those affected by border conflicts. In conjunction with these efforts, the United States is proud to announce a new three-year, $3 million partnership with the demining organization APOPO. This initiative will focus on clearing landmines in Preah Vihear and Oddar Meanchey provinces, as well as unexploded ordnance in Mondulkiri province. The goal is to reclaim safe land, ensure productive agricultural areas, and enhance security for Cambodian families in the future. The United States is proud to support programs that yield tangible results for both Cambodia and the US. This work helps reduce health and security threats while also increasing business and investment opportunities for the US in Cambodia.
