Proposal submitted to accelerate the promotion of stability and security in Mandalay Region

It has been reported that a proposal to accelerate the promotion of stability and security within the Mandalay Region was submitted to the Mandalay Region Hluttaw on August 6. The proposal was submitted by U Myo Kyaw, the regional Hluttaw representative (No. 2) for Chanmyathazi Township. "In townships within the Mandalay Region, such as Myingyan, Nyaung-U, Taungtha, Ngazun, Malai, Myittha, Kyaukpadaung, Myitnge, Sintku, Thabeikkyin, Mogok, and others, stability and peace are lacking. The residents in these areas face numerous challenges related to security, social affairs, education, health, and economy, making their livelihoods difficult. The main reasons for the lack of stability and peace are the imbalance between various government departments and local residents, the weakness of the rule of law, and the inability to effectively implement security measures, leading to a decrease or absence of stability and peace in various regions. Stability and peace are directly related to the development of the people's lives. In areas lacking stability and peace, there are difficulties in transportation, high commodity prices, challenges for school-aged children in receiving education, lack of medicine for children, pregnant women, and the elderly, and weaknesses in social assistance, resulting in preventable deaths. Furthermore, due to the lack of opportunities to engage in employment in accordance with local conditions, livelihoods are difficult. Therefore, the residents in the aforementioned townships and regions greatly desire and long for stability and peace," the proposer explained. He further stated, "In consideration of the interests, security, and regional development of the people, and in order to achieve stability in the respective regions, a proposal titled 'Accelerating the Promotion of Stability and Security in Mandalay Region' has been submitted to formulate and implement plans in accordance with policies." Regarding the submission of the proposal, one representative supported it, and as there were no objectors in the Hluttaw, it was announced that representatives could register to discuss the proposal, and it will be discussed on August 11, the third regular session.
