Cambodia Launches 'Run for Green Tourism' Obstacle Trail Event on Bokor Mountain
Cambodia's Ministry of Tourism has announced the 'Run for Green Tourism on Bokor Mountain' obstacle trail event, aiming to promote the natural and cultural tourism potential of Kampot province and foster sustainable tourism.
AKP Phnom Penh, September 16, 2026 — Cambodia's Ministry of Tourism announced Tuesday the launch of the "Run for Green Tourism on Bokor Mountain" obstacle trail event, a new initiative aimed at promoting the natural and cultural tourism potential of Kampot province. The event, organised in collaboration with the Kampot Provincial Administration, the Organising Committee of the Bokor Mountain Trail 2026 and Sokha Hotels & Resorts, is designed to draw domestic and international visitors to Preah Monivong Bokor National Park during the region's lush green season. The race is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 4, 2026, starting at 6:00 a.m. in front of Le Bokor Palace Hotel in the national park. The event offers four categories to accommodate diverse skill levels: a 25km obstacle trail, a 12km obstacle trail, a 5km obstacle trail and a 3km non-competitive walking trail. Registration is open from Wednesday through Sept. 30, 2026, and can be accessed via QR code. All participants will receive a package including a T-shirt, water, beverages and snacks. Registration for the 3km walking trail is free, with complimentary T-shirts available to the first 500 registrants. Participant T-shirt pick-up will take place Oct. 2–3, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Tourist Information Centre (Old Bridge Head) in Kampot province. The Ministry of Tourism invited all interested individuals, including local and international visitors, to register and participate in what it called a unique opportunity to support sustainable tourism in Cambodia.
