Striving to be a Parliament that Gains Public Trust and Benefits the Nation

The Speaker of the Pyithu Hluttaw, U Khin Ri, stated that efforts are being made to become a parliament that gains the trust of the people and benefits the nation. The Speaker of the Pyithu Hluttaw made these remarks in his opening speech at a press conference held on August 1st at the Zabu Thiri Hall, Parliament Building, in Nay Pyi Taw. It was stated that the holding of such a press conference is to introduce the parliament and to facilitate interaction between the parliament and the public, and between the parliament and the media. The press conference was attended by the Deputy Speaker of the Pyithu Hluttaw, U Maung Maung Aye, Speakers of State and Region Hluttaws, members of the Pyithu Hluttaw Information Committee, and domestic and foreign media representatives.
