Vietnamese Community in Japan Honors Fallen Heroes, Strengthens Unity and Cultural Heritage

The Vietnamese Consulate General in Osaka and the Vietnamese Association in Kansai jointly organized a commemoration event and a seminar themed "Strengthening National Great Unity in the Vietnamese Community in Kansai, Japan" ahead of the 79th War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27). This event served as an opportunity to reaffirm the role of Vietnamese youth living abroad in preserving national cultural identity and to emphasize the importance of not forgetting gratitude towards the homeland and passing down traditions, even while living away from home. In the past, the Osaka Consulate General has organized Tet (Lunar New Year) celebrations titled "Spring of the Homeland 2026," events that deepened the trust and connection of Vietnamese compatriots in the Kansai region with their homeland. Support drives for compatriots affected by heavy rains have also been held, indicating a spirit of mutual assistance within the community. The current commemoration and seminar reflect the importance of national unity under Vietnam's one-party system and the government's approach to fostering patriotism among citizens living abroad. As Vietnam continues its economic growth, it places importance on connections with its citizens living overseas for domestic stability and development.
