Ca Mau Province Collects DNA Samples from 160 Martyr Remains for Identification

Ca Mau Province in southern Vietnam has commenced the process of collecting DNA samples from the remains of martyrs at the Vĩnh Lợi Martyr Cemetery in Châu Thới xã. This initiative is regarded as a political duty and a profound expression of gratitude from the current generation to the heroes who bravely sacrificed themselves for the nation's independence and freedom. The DNA sampling aims to accurately identify unidentified martyrs, thereby honoring their contributions and bringing peace to their families. Ca Mau Province has a history of prioritizing martyr-related activities, including previous DNA鑑定 for over 3,300 sets of remains, sending 237 sets for鑑定 in Hanoi, and supporting the repair and construction of over 1,200 martyr graves. Under Vietnam's one-party system, respect and commemoration for national contributors, especially martyrs and war invalids, are crucial elements for fostering national unity and patriotism. These identification efforts are part of significant government-led activities to inherit the memory of past wars and convey the value of peace to future generations.
