Czech Govt. Scholarship Recipients Encouraged to Become Human Capital for Cambodia's Development
Cambodia's Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training encouraged 18 students receiving Czech government scholarships for master's and doctoral studies to gain international experience and become "human capital" for Cambodia's development. The students are also expected to promote Cambodia's potential and investment opportunities internationally through their studies in the Czech Republic.
The Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training of Cambodia has encouraged 18 students, recipients of the 2026 Czech Republic Government Scholarship, to diligently pursue knowledge and become "human capital" for Cambodia's development. Suvanna Vannarath, Secretary of State, representing H.E. Heng Sour, Minister of Labour and Vocational Training, met with and provided recommendations to the scholarship recipients on the morning of July 9, 2026. These scholarship winners, comprising 7 women, come from various ministries, institutions, the private sector, and non-governmental organizations. They are set to depart for the Czech Republic in September 2026 to pursue master's and doctoral studies at universities there. During the occasion, Secretary of State Suvanna Vannarath urged the scholarship recipients to make the most of this valuable opportunity by studying diligently, developing their capacities, and showcasing the potential of Cambodian youth on the international stage. Concurrently, she encouraged the students to build networks with international students and professionals to expand their knowledge, experience, and future cooperation. She emphasized that Cambodian youth today have broader opportunities to access high-level education and skills that enable them to compete internationally. Furthermore, students can play a role in promoting Cambodia's potential by presenting the reality of the country's development and investment opportunities to foreign friends and investors. The Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training's key mission involves implementing the government's Pentagonal Strategy, particularly in protecting the rights and benefits of workers, strengthening the social security regime, and promoting technical and vocational training. The Ministry continues to expand job opportunities for citizens, including returning migrant workers from Thailand and those affected by the invasion from the Thai military, through the National Employment Agency (NEA) and the hotline number 1297 to facilitate job searching and enrollment in vocational training. Secretary of State Suvanna Vannarath expressed her hope that all scholarship recipients will achieve success in their studies, absorb new knowledge and experiences from the Czech Republic, and return to serve their homeland as competent, qualified, and innovative human resources, contributing to the further progress of Cambodia's social and economic development.
