3 dead due to Typhoon Kiyapo, Habagat – NDRRMC

Three individuals were reported dead due to the effects of Typhoon Kiyapo (international name: Noul) and the Southwest Monsoon or Habagat, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said Sunday. According to the situational report as of 8 a.m. of July 26, the reported deaths were recorded in Davao Region and Soccksksargen. They are still for validation, according to the NDRRMC. On the other hand, one individual was also reported missing in the Soccsksargen region. Further, 41,382 families or 193,576 individuals from 258 barangays in seven regions were affected by the weather disturbances. There are currently 2,359 families or 9,380 persons residing in evacuation centers. Moreover, a total of 235 damaged houses were reported in Western Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Soccsksargen, and BARRM. Of this, 158 were partially damaged while 77 others were totally damaged. As of 8 a.m., Kiyapo (now called as Typhoon Noul) is being monitored outside of the Philippine Area of Responsibility. It was last monitored at 815 kilometers west northwest of extreme northern Luzon. —KG, GMA News
