Vietnam Builds 'Medical Safety Net' for Adventure Tourism

Vietnam is actively developing a comprehensive medical safety net to cater to the increasing interest in adventure tourism. This is a crucial element for ensuring the safety of participants in activities that involve risks, such as high-altitude mountaineering and deep-sea diving. Specifically, efforts are being made to expand medical insurance coverage, establish rapid rescue systems, deploy medical emergency helicopters, and strengthen coordination with medical facilities capable of swift responses. This will allow tourists to enjoy experiences in Vietnam's diverse natural environments with peace of mind. This initiative is seen as part of Vietnam's strategy to establish itself not just as a resort destination but also as a hub for adventure tourism. In recent years, there has been a growing demand among domestic tourists for more active and experiential travel. By meeting these needs, the country aims to qualitatively improve its overall tourism industry and achieve sustainable growth. The series of measures is also aligned with Vietnam's economic growth strategy under the one-party system of the Communist Party of Vietnam, with the tourism sector's enhancement expected to contribute to foreign exchange earnings and job creation.
