German Ambassador Highlights Cambodia as a Safe Tourist Destination
Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet met with outgoing German Ambassador to Cambodia, Stefan Measurer. Phnom Penh, July 14, 2026 – Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, on the afternoon of July 14, 2026, granted a farewell call by His Excellency Stefan Measurer, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Cambodia, who is concluding his term, and his colleagues at the Peace Palace. During the meeting, the German Ambassador expressed his profound satisfaction with the gradual progress of bilateral relations and cooperation between Germany and Cambodia. He also expressed gratitude to the Royal Government of Cambodia for the warm cooperation and support extended to him during his diplomatic mission in Cambodia. In response, Samdech Thipadei highly appreciated the active diplomatic role and contributions of His Excellency the Ambassador in strengthening and expanding the friendship and cooperation between the two countries. Samdech Thipadei also expressed his pleasure with the good bilateral cooperation in many fields, particularly in education and training, and expressed confidence that cooperation in these sectors will continue to grow and become even closer. Samdech Thipadei agreed that Cambodia and Germany have many opportunities to promote trade volume and economic cooperation by continuing to enhance relations between the private sectors of both countries. Regarding agriculture and agro-industry, Samdech Thipadei pointed out that Cambodia and Germany have considerable potential for joint cooperation. The Prime Minister informed His Excellency the Ambassador about the Royal Government's key policies and measures to support the development of this sector, especially promoting the processing of strategic agricultural products such as Cambodian cashews and rice for export to international markets. Before concluding, Samdech Thipadei also briefed the Ambassador on the latest developments of the Cambodia-Thailand border conflict situation, emphasizing Cambodia's commitment and stance to resolve border issues peacefully, based on international law, conventions, treaties, and existing agreements between the two countries. His Excellency the Ambassador affirmed that Germany supports the peaceful resolution of border issues in accordance with international law.
