Asian Games Bronze Medalist Cheng Dalin Expresses Joy in Bringing Medal to Nation

Cambodian martial artist Cheng Dalin expressed immense joy and pride in bringing home a bronze medal from the 20th Asian Games held in Japan. Dalin's national pride was evident during a warm welcome upon her return to Cambodia on the night of September 23, 2026, at Techo International Airport in Kandal Province. She was greeted by distinguished officials including H.E. Ke Bun Khieng, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport; H.E. Pon Sok, Director General of the General Department of Sports; H.E. Vath Chamroeun, Vice President of the Cambodia Mixed Martial Arts Federation, representing the Federation President; and Mr. Yan Kisyvath, Director of the National Sports Training Center. Cheng Dalin stated that achieving a third-place ranking among strong participating nations is a source of immense national pride, following six months of intensive training and five years of dedication to the sport. Although this bronze medal is her first in the quadrennial continental event, Dalin emphasized that it was not her ultimate goal, as she aims for higher achievements. Nevertheless, Cheng Dalin is committed to continuing her rigorous training to hone her skills and become even stronger for future international competitions.
