Indonesian Religious Affairs Minister Expresses Gratitude for Stability Under Prabowo Administration

Indonesian Minister of Religious Affairs, Nasaruddin Umar, has urged the public to be grateful that Indonesia is on the right track under the leadership of President Prabowo Subianto, even as the world grapples with geopolitical dynamics. Speaking at the "Zikir dan Doa Kebangsaan" (National Recitation and Prayer) event held at Monas, Central Jakarta, on Saturday (August 1, 2026), Umar stated, "Amidst global dynamics, we should be grateful that Indonesia's development under the leadership of President Prabowo Subianto is proceeding on the right track." The minister also highlighted that the holding of the prayer event itself is strong evidence of the harmony maintained within Indonesia's diverse society. "Tonight, we gather to recite prayers and dhikr to strengthen our gratitude for the gift of independence," he said. Furthermore, Umar described Indonesia as "God's most beautiful painting on this earth," emphasizing that no one should be allowed to "disrupt" it. Meanwhile, Umar conveyed that President Prabowo Subianto could not attend the National Recitation and Prayer event. "Allow me to convey warm greetings from the President of the Republic of Indonesia, who truly wished to be with us tonight," the minister stated.
