It is reported that the Poe Thit-Shwe Pyar-Chaung Thar road was temporarily closed due to flooding after heavy rainfall. Flooding occurred on the Chaung Thar road after continuous rain on July 13. "The Chaung Thar main road was flooded near Chaung Goun village and Seik Gyi village. In some places, it was about four feet deep. It flooded because of the heavy rain. The rain was also very heavy. Since the road was flooded and impassable, cars coming from Chaung Thar had to turn back. When I arrived there around 11 AM yesterday, everyone had to turn back. The rain was also continuous. It was like a storm on the beach. It rained heavily until early evening. The rain only lessened this morning," said Ko Moe Thauk, who experienced it firsthand. "This morning, we set off after breakfast. We were afraid it would happen again like yesterday. The water has receded. There have been some landslides. Mud is still piled on the road. We have to drive slowly to pass. When we passed in the morning, there was no rain at all. We don't know what will happen if it rains again in the afternoon. If it rains heavily, it is likely to happen again," he added. Regarding this incident, the Ayeyarwady Region Government also issued a statement, stating that the water had receded and the road was reopened around 11 PM on July 13. It was reported that the Poe Thit-Shwe Pyar-Chaung Thar road is now accessible again.
