Two Boys Critically Injured in Thai School Shooting Remain in ICU After Surgery

Local police transported her body to the Institute of Forensic Medicine for an autopsy as part of the ongoing criminal investigation. A 14-year-old ninth-grade student was shot directly in the shoulder. Surgeons operated yesterday to repair a damaged blood vessel in his chest. He requires a breathing tube but is slowly being weaned off the ventilator. The boy is conscious and can follow simple commands, a positive sign for his brain health, though he remains in critical condition in the ICU. The third victim, a 13-year-old boy, sustained a gunshot wound to his back, causing dangerous internal bleeding in his lung and chest cavity. Emergency surgery was performed to insert a tube to drain the trapped blood. This younger student is breathing on his own, is fully awake, and alert. Both boys are showing resilience, but their recovery is not yet assured. Dr. Sukphrom emphasized that both patients face a long medical journey, with continuous 24/7 monitoring by the dedicated medical team.
