Vietnam Expands Overseas Work Opportunities Through Labor Cooperation with Albania

A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on sending Vietnamese workers to Albania has been signed between Vietnam and Albania. This agreement opens up new employment opportunities for Vietnamese laborers in various industries and professions within Albania. Under this cooperation, Vietnamese workers will be guaranteed equal treatment in labor relations according to Albanian labor law. Specifically, they will be able to receive fair wages, good working conditions, and various welfare benefits. This is positioned as part of the Vietnamese government's efforts to expand high-quality overseas employment opportunities. Vietnam has historically focused on improving workers' skills and supporting overseas employment to meet the needs of domestic and international labor markets. Over 3,000 workers have already been deployed abroad through non-profit programs, and this collaboration with Albania is expected to further develop that experience. Concurrently, programs to support returning workers will be launched, aiming to establish a system for channeling overseas experience back into the domestic economy. Under Vietnam's one-party system, economic growth and improving people's lives are always top priorities for the government, and expanding the labor force overseas is seen as an effective means to promote domestic job creation and economic development. Securing labor supply channels to the European market, especially amidst strong economic ties with China, is also important from the perspective of economic diversification.
