In their opening game, Thailand defeated Kyrgyzstan 3-2, while Hong Kong suffered a 0-2 loss to Japan. The training session focused on tactics and specific details for the upcoming match. Speaking before the training, Thai defender Nathan James stated, "I feel better and am fully ready if given the chance. The team atmosphere is very good, everyone is united. After getting three important points against Kyrgyzstan, everyone is motivated." "The three points from the first game have boosted our confidence, as the first match is always difficult.
