Mondulkiri Governor Inspects Casino After Online Scam Crackdown

Mondulkiri Province, Cambodia - Governor Kong Kimny of Mondulkiri province, along with relevant officials, inspected a casino situated in a border area named "CG Ting." This action was taken after authorities had previously sealed the premises and cracked down on online scam activities conducted at the location. The inspection aimed to ensure that legal measures are being implemented correctly and effectively. The inspection of the actual situation by the authorities took place on September 19, 2026, at the Lapaka border crossing in Keo Seima district, Mondulkiri province. Governor Kong Kimny of Mondulkiri stated that the current inspection's objective is to monitor the real situation, enhance supervision, and strengthen the enforcement of legal measures. This follows decisive actions taken by law enforcement authorities against online scam activities, which are identified as transnational offenses that negatively affect the security, social order, and reputation of the region. The provincial governor advised district authorities to continue inspecting online scam issues within their respective territories. He also directed casino owners operating legally not to allow online gambling operations, adhering to the directives issued by Prime Minister Hun Manet. Furthermore, he instructed the technical officials and relevant authorities comprising the task force for the prevention and suppression of online scam crimes to maintain close collaboration in their oversight and law enforcement efforts. This is to ensure that no criminal activities, especially those related to online fraud, are carried out within the province, thereby guaranteeing strict compliance with legal provisions across Mondulkiri. He stressed the imperative for Mondulkiri to ensure that no online scam activities are harbored within its borders.
