During his visit, Marcos is scheduled to hold a one-on-one meeting with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, followed by an expanded session involving both delegations. "Our diplomatic ties with Canada span 77 years and continue to grow from strength to strength," Marcos stated before his departure from Manila on Wednesday. A significant priority of this visit is the advancement of economic relations, particularly the negotiation of a Philippines-Canada Free Trade Agreement (FTA), running in parallel with the broader ASEAN-Canada FTA discussions.
