Two Suspects Escape from Kampong Speu Court, One Apprehended

Two suspects have escaped from the Kampong Speu Provincial Court while being transferred to the prosecutor's office. Police have apprehended one of them and are actively pursuing the other. The incident occurred around 10:00 AM on September 17th within the premises of the Kampong Speu Provincial Court. The two suspects, identified as Van Vuthy (31), accused of attempted robbery, and Leng Keo (27), accused of theft, reportedly asked to use the restroom and seized the opportunity to escape by scaling the court's perimeter fence. The Kampong Speu Provincial Police immediately launched an investigation and, shortly after the escape, apprehended Van Vuthy. Leng Keo remains at large, and police are continuing their search and pursuit. Apprehended suspect Van Vuthy has confessed to various theft activities, including stealing mobile phones, chickens, and rice. Leng Keo has admitted to stealing chickens from residents on six separate occasions. Both suspects are also reportedly habitual drug users. In response to the incident, the Kampong Speu Provincial Police are conducting a swift investigation under the direction of the prosecutor's office, dedicating all efforts to uncovering the full details of the case and apprehending the remaining fugitive.
