Ukrainian Man Arrested for Allegedly Operating Foreign Prostitution Ring in Bali

A Ukrainian man, identified by the initials OG, has been apprehended by immigration authorities in Bali for allegedly operating a prostitution ring catering to foreigners. He is suspected of offering prostitution services for foreign women at exorbitant rates, reportedly reaching up to IDR 13.9 million per hour. The Bali Regional Office of the Directorate General of Immigration, in collaboration with the Bali Regional Police, detained 13 foreign nationals suspected of involvement in this illegal prostitution. Twelve of them are believed to have worked as commercial sex workers, with OG allegedly acting as the pimp. They are suspected of marketing their services online through WhatsApp, Telegram, and even websites. "At the time of our apprehension, we made contact through WhatsApp, from a website, and also through Telegram," stated Raja Ulul Azmi Syahwali, Head of the Intelligence and Legal Section at the Ngurah Rai Immigration Office, as reported by detikBali on Saturday (19/9/2026). These foreign nationals are said to have been engaged in prostitution activities in Bali for three to six months. The rates they charged varied based on nationality. Seven Nigerian nationals reportedly charged around AUD 800 (approximately IDR 10.1 million) for one hour of service. Meanwhile, five other foreign nationals from Russia and Kazakhstan charged up to AUD 1,100 (approximately IDR 13.9 million) per hour. "For those from Russia, they charged more, I don't know why it was more expensive," he added. The perpetrators primarily targeted other foreign nationals in Bali as clients, though specific target countries were not mentioned. "From their statements, the clients were indeed mostly foreigners as well," Syahwali concluded. Immigration authorities are prosecuting them under Article 75 of Law Number 6 of 2011 concerning Immigration. Most of the individuals involved were holders of visit stay permits.
