THE Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) said it signed a registration agreement (RA) with Apexford International Corp. as a new ecozone logistics service enterprise (ELSE). In a social media post on Wednesday, PEZA said the RA clears the development of Apexford’s warehousing facility inside First Cavite Industrial Estate Special Economic Zone in Dasmariñas City, Cavite. Apexford will provide warehousing, storage, inventory management, and material handling services for PEZA-registered export manufacturing enterprises, PEZA said. The Cavite facility will support key industries such as electronics, semiconductors, automotive components, precision tooling, industrial packaging materials, and industrial resins. According to PEZA, ELSEs are registered business enterprises that move or store production-related raw materials and equipment catering, exclusively to the requirements of export manufacturing enterprises. They also facilitate import and export shipments, raw material sourcing, inventory management, deliveries, localization, and process customization. Apexford specializes in cargo handling, warehousing and storage, customs coordination, trucking coordination, industrial cargo, and project cargo. Semiconductors and electronics are a major driver of Philippine export growth. In the first five months, exports of electronic products rose 17.5% to $20.83 billion, with semiconductor exports up 19.1% to $15.65 billion. PEZA Director General Tereso O.
