Cambodian Ruling Party Urges Local Branches to Unite and Enhance Public Outreach

Khuong Sreng, a member of the Central Committee of the Cambodian People's Party (CPP) and Chairman of the Phnom Penh Municipal Party Committee, has instructed party officials from four communes in the Khan Chbar Ampov district of Phnom Penh to work cohesively to build public trust in the leadership of Prime Minister Hun Manet and to secure continued votes for the CPP. During a meeting with party members from the Veal Sbov, Prek Eng, Kbal Koh, and Prek Thmey communes, Sreng expressed gratitude for the party's past electoral victories but urged local party officials and members to intensify their efforts and activities. He emphasized the party's ambition to "govern the nation forever" and achieve its vision of becoming an upper-middle-income country by 2030 and a high-income country by 2050. Sreng stated that the meeting aimed to discuss and identify the party's strengths and weaknesses to facilitate the achievement of its goals. He highlighted the CPP's contributions to national prosperity, particularly under the leadership of former Prime Minister Hun Sen, including national reunification, saving lives during the COVID-19 pandemic, and ensuring citizens' freedom and rights. He instructed them to disseminate these achievements to the public to foster love and encourage votes for the CPP. Furthermore, Khuong Sreng directed commune chiefs and village chiefs to closely monitor their respective areas to crack down on online scams, in line with Prime Minister Hun Manet's commitment to eradicate them from Phnom Penh. In response, commune and village leaders presented their accomplishments and outlined their action plans, including a commitment to convert each party member into a voter for the CPP in the upcoming elections in 2027-2028.
