Battambang Red Cross Donates Houses to Needy Disaster-Affected Families

The Cambodian Red Cross Battambang Provincial Branch organized a ceremony on the afternoon of September 21, 2026, to hand over two humanitarian houses and distribute humanitarian aid to 50 impoverished families in Battambang City. The ceremony was presided over by H.E. Sok Lu, Governor of Battambang Province and Chairman of the Cambodian Red Cross Battambang Provincial Branch Committee. The new houses were provided to the families of Ms. Nhak Phon and Ms. Nhak Samphos, both widows with large families who were living in poverty and had lost their homes due to a fire on April 1, 2026. The provision of new homes is a timely response to alleviate their hardships and provide them with a warm and safe shelter again. During the event, H.E. Sok Lu and his delegation visited the beneficiaries, inquiring about their well-being. Humanitarian aid, including food supplies, was distributed to 50 impoverished and vulnerable families to help ease their daily living burdens. H.E. Sok Lu conveyed the profound regards and deep concern of Samdech Kittipul Pundit Bun Rany Hun Sen, President of the Cambodian Red Cross, who consistently pays close attention to the welfare and living conditions of the people across the country. He also urged the recipient families to preserve these invaluable assets for their children and future generations. Furthermore, he reminded them of the importance of health, hygiene, environmental sanitation, traffic law compliance, and abstaining from drug abuse. In response, the two families who received new homes, along with all the residents, expressed immense joy and gratitude to the Cambodian Red Cross, led by President Samdech Kittipul Pundit Bun Rany Hun Sen, and H.E. Sok Lu, Chairman of the Provincial Branch Committee, as well as the Battambang provincial authorities, for their concern and rescue during this difficult time, especially for providing them with unexpectedly decent and beautiful homes.
