Lam Dong Province Completes DNA Sampling and Digitization at 10 Martyrs' Cemeteries

Lam Dong Province in Vietnam has announced the completion of DNA sampling and digitization of remains at 10 out of 11 martyrs' cemeteries within its jurisdiction, as part of the "500-Day Campaign" to search for, collect, and identify martyrs' remains. This initiative aims to scientifically identify martyrs who have remained unidentified for many years and provide accurate information to their families. Lam Dong Province has reportedly collected DNA samples from over 3,400 sets of remains from 10 cemeteries. The collected samples will be digitized into a database and used to match unidentified remains with information from families. The current situation, where many soldiers lost in past conflicts, including the Vietnam War, remain unidentified, has been a long-standing challenge for the government.
