YBS (65) Bus and another passenger vehicle suspended from refueling CNG permanently for illegal sale

It has been learned from the Ministry of Electricity and Energy that action has been taken to permanently suspend the refueling of natural gas for vehicles (CNG) for the YBS (65) bus and another passenger vehicle, which were found to have illegally sold it. It is understood that because the natural gas for vehicles (CNG) has been managed by the state at an affordable price, YBS buses are instructed to operate only on designated routes under the supervision of the Yangon Region Private Transport Supervision Committee (YRTC) to benefit the public in the Yangon Region, and to collect fares only at the prescribed rates. However, despite such instructions, the vehicle with registration number (2I-2957) bearing the YBS (65) bus line label was not actually operating on the YBS line but was operating as a factory shuttle bus within the Yarthargyi Industrial Zone in Tawwin Dagon Township. Furthermore, it has been learned that officials went to investigate after receiving a report that natural gas for vehicles (CNG) was being illegally sold to the vehicle with registration number (6F-3682). Upon inspection, it was confirmed that the violations had actually occurred, and therefore, action has been taken to permanently suspend the refueling of CNG for the two passenger vehicles with registration numbers (2I-2957) and (6F-3682) starting from June 30, according to the Ministry of Electricity and Energy.
