Former Deputy Governor Couple Sentenced to 3 Years for Facebook Posts Damaging National Security
In Phnom Penh, Cambodia, former Aryaksa Deputy Governor Thi Sovannatha and her husband, Phe Sovannarith, have been sentenced to three years in prison each for spreading false information on Facebook, which was deemed to have threatened national security and harmed military morale. The verdict was delivered on July 13, 2026, concerning an incident in December 2025.
