Cambodia Promotes National Action Plan to Prevent Violence Against Children
Khieu Borey, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Social Affairs, Veterans and Youth Rehabilitation, presided over a workshop in Takeo province to promote the National Action Plan to Prevent and Respond to Violence Against Children for 2025-2030. The plan aims to strengthen implementation and resource allocation at the sub-national level.
Phnom Penh, September 8, 2026 -- Ms. Khieu Borey, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Social Affairs, Veterans and Youth Rehabilitation and Vice President of the National Committee for Child Protection (K.Ch.K.), presided over a workshop on the National Action Plan to Prevent and Respond to Violence Against Children for 2025-2030 on September 7, 2026, at the meeting hall of the Takeo Provincial Hall. Ms. Khieu Borey stated that the workshop was organized with the aim of effectively responding to and implementing the National Action Plan to Prevent and Respond to Violence Against Children for 2025-2030, in line with the government's directives to sub-national authorities. The initiative seeks to support new ideas and enhance implementation by stakeholders, strengthen capacities, and allocate resources at the sub-national level, which are essential for the execution of this national plan. The workshop was attended by members of the K.Ch.K., undersecretaries of state from the Ministry of Social Affairs, Veterans and Youth Rehabilitation, secretaries-general and deputy secretaries-general, deputy governors of Takeo province, directors of provincial departments of Social Affairs, representatives of relevant ministries, municipal and district administrations, and development partner organizations, totaling 70 participants.
