Nghe An Province in central Vietnam has attracted over VND 110 trillion (approximately $4.3 billion USD) in investments for real estate development, including industrial parks, resorts, and social housing. This was announced at an investment promotion conference as part of the province's long-term development plan for 2021-2030, with a vision towards 2050. During the conference held on July 31, 25 projects received approvals for investment policy and signed Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs). Notably, the Vi Giam ecological urban area, resort, and park complex is slated to receive VND 52.6 trillion. Other significant investments include VND 8.01 trillion for Dong Hoi Port and its logistics services area, and VND 7.5 trillion for Ngoc Chau Industrial Park (Phase 1). Additionally, approximately VND 6.9 trillion is allocated for VSIP Nghe An Industrial Park 5 and Phuc Loc Industrial Park, while VND 3.539 trillion is designated for social housing complexes in Vinh Phu and Vinh Loc 3 wards. Many of these projects are concentrated in industrial parks, logistics, and urban development areas, particularly within the Southeast Economic Zone, with both domestic and foreign enterprises undertaking large-scale infrastructure development. Mr. Nguyen Khac Thien, Secretary of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee, urged businesses to expedite procedures, allocate resources, and implement projects on schedule, ensuring quality and efficiency. He also emphasized the need for investors to proactively coordinate with relevant authorities to resolve any issues, leading to the early realization of projects, job creation, and increased state revenue. The provincial leadership expressed hope that the business community will continue to collaborate in developing and promoting Nghe An's investment environment. Nghe An Province covers an area of 16,490 square kilometers and has a population of over 3.4 million. In the first half of 2026, the province's GRDP grew by 9.65%, the highest in 14 years and second in the North Central region. FDI attraction has also yielded positive results, with registered capital reaching $2.41 billion USD, ranking fifth nationwide. According to the adjusted provincial planning, by 2030, Nghe An aims to become a leading province in the country and a growth pole for the North Central region, fostering rapid and sustainable development while boosting the marine economy. The province also aspires to be a regional hub for industry, high-tech agriculture, healthcare, education, science and technology, trade, logistics, and tourism, serving as a key connection point for East-West trade with Laos and the Greater Mekong Subregion. By 2050, Nghe An envisions becoming a high-income province with a comprehensive and modern economy, characterized by international competitiveness. Source: VnExpress
