Cambodia's Ministry of Rural Development Discusses Infrastructure and Public Health Improvements
Cambodia's Ministry of Rural Development held a key meeting to discuss infrastructure development, community projects, and public health improvements. Key agenda items included infrastructure upgrades around the Tasal Reservoir, preparations for an ODF+ (Open Defecation Free) celebration, and the upcoming National Sanitation Forum.
On the morning of Tuesday, September 1, 2026, the Ministry of Rural Development held a meeting led by H.E. Dr. Chhay Rithisen, Minister of Rural Development, to review and discuss the ministry's work. The meeting was attended by H.E. the Secretary of State, Excellencies, Ladies, Gentlemen, leaders of departments, and technical officials at the Ministry's headquarters. The meeting reviewed and passed several important agendas, including: 1. The Ministry of Rural Development's contribution to conservation and development projects in the Teuk Phos Resort, Tasal Natural Water Reservoir area, and indigenous communities through improving the quality of rural road infrastructure and organizing various development projects in line with the Ministry's functions. 2. Strengthening the implementation of roles, duties, and capacity building of the Ministry of Rural Development's information dissemination team. 3. Organizing plans or development projects in various provinces and cities. 4. Preparing a report summarizing the results of rural development work over the past three years of the 7th legislature of the National Assembly, under the wise leadership of H.E. Dr. Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia. 5. Preparing documents for the celebration of Prey Veng Province as a high-level ODF+ (Open Defecation Free) province. 6. Preparing documents for the upcoming 3rd National Sanitation Forum in Cambodia. After reviewing and discussing, H.E. the Minister provided several recommendations to each working group to continue their work with the spirit of the meeting to achieve positive progress.
