President Prabowo Warns Corruptors to Return State Wealth

"I warn again, once more, for the umpteenth time, I have been saying this from the start. Hey corruptors, be self-aware. Stop your practices. Stop. The people are not foolish. Stop," Prabowo stated during the commemoration of the 79th National Cooperatives Day in Jakarta on Sunday (12/7). Prabowo urged corruptors to return the state's wealth. According to him, the Indonesian nation is forgiving, but justice must still be upheld. "Return the people's wealth, return it properly. We are a forgiving nation, but the people need justice," he said. Prabowo stated that the Indonesian people must prosper. He believes that state money should be used to build good schools. Additionally, he aims to improve the welfare of teachers, doctors, nurses, the military, police, and civil servants. "The people need good schools, teachers need good salaries. Doctors, nurses need good salaries. The military and police need good salaries, so they don't extort from the people. Civil servants need good salaries so they don't commit corruption," Prabowo emphasized. On this occasion, Prabowo also announced that the government will discipline state-owned enterprises (BUMN), which he believes have been a source of corruption practices. "We will discipline these BUMNs. All this time, BUMNs have been a source of corruption," Prabowo explained.
