Cambodia Reviews Progress of Community Development Center Construction in Takeo Province

A progress inspection of the construction of a community development center and related infrastructure took place in Takeo Province, Cambodia. On the morning of Friday, the second day of the waxing moon of the second month of the year of the Horse, the 8th year of the Buddhist Era 2570, corresponding to July 31, 2026, H.E. Chhay Rithisen, Minister of Rural Development, accompanied by high-ranking officials from the Ministry, led technical officers from the Ministry and the Takeo Provincial Department of Rural Development to inspect the progress of the construction of the Community Development Center and various infrastructure projects in Trapeang Angk Village, Rokar Krau Commune, Takeo City, Takeo Province. The Takeo Provincial Community Development Center is being established to serve as a platform for human resource development and to enhance Cambodian agricultural businesses. This initiative aims to enable rural residents to increase their household income sustainably by promoting livelihood diversification and fostering innovation through technical and vocational training, life skills, and entrepreneurship. This Takeo Provincial Community Development Center is the second center established under the grant aid from the government of the Republic of Korea. The groundbreaking ceremony and commencement of construction took place on March 3, 2026. Currently, the construction of the buildings and various infrastructure has achieved 50% progress. During the site visit, the Minister pointed out to the construction contractor the importance of implementing the work in accordance with technical construction standards and the approved blueprints. He also stressed the need to expedite the construction work to meet the contractual obligations, so that the benefits can be provided to the people through training programs in a timely manner.
