Vietnamese, German Parties Boost Ties Through Theoretical Exchange

The Communist Party of Vietnam and the Social Democratic Party of Germany recently held their 11th theoretical exchange meeting, aiming to further develop bilateral relations. This meeting served as an important opportunity to deepen mutual understanding and share perspectives on common challenges. The meeting focused on four main discussion sessions. The first session addressed "the multipolar world and changes in the international order," analyzing current global trends and their impact on various countries. The second session explored "development models in the digital and artificial intelligence (AI) era," examining the transformative potential and challenges posed by rapidly advancing technologies on economic development and social structures. The third session focused on "the protection of international trade in a multipolar world," discussing how to maintain and strengthen a free and open international trading system amidst rising protectionism and geopolitical risks. The fourth session deliberated on "the role of political parties in guiding transformation and addressing contemporary challenges," with experiences shared on the Communist Party of Vietnam's efforts in "party building and political system renewal" and the Social Democratic Party of Germany's approaches to social issues. Under its one-party system, the Communist Party of Vietnam has achieved economic growth while emphasizing international cooperation. Theoretical exchanges with countries such as China, Mexico, and Laos have served as platforms for sharing experiences to strengthen the Party's leadership and policy formulation. This exchange with Germany is also a significant step in Vietnam's diplomatic strategy, as part of its efforts to build relationships with Western developed nations.
