23 Vietnamese Citizens Repatriated from Cambodia Received by Tay Ninh Authorities

Twenty-three Vietnamese citizens, who were deported from Cambodia for violations of regulations related to immigration, labor, and residency, have been repatriated to Vietnam via the border gate in Tay Ninh province. The citizens, with registered living places mainly in northern, central, Central Highlands, and southwestern localities of Vietnam, had entered Cambodia through different border gates at various times. Le Van Han, Chairman of the People’s Committee of Tay Ninh, outlined four key areas of cooperation with Cambodian localities for the 2026–2030 period, focusing on economy; agriculture, fisheries and environmental protection; culture, society and tourism; and border management, border demarcation, and security and order maintenance. This repatriation underscores Vietnam's ongoing efforts in border management and ensuring the safety of its citizens. It also highlights the country's approach to addressing cross-border issues such as illegal stay and labor through cooperation with neighboring nations. Under its one-party system, Vietnam prioritizes social stability and economic growth. Strengthening border control is considered essential for maintaining domestic security and facilitating economic activities. The border with Cambodia is particularly significant for economic exchange, and bilateral cooperation is expected to contribute to regional stability and development.
