Reconstruction and construction must also promote the development of MSME businesses, cooperative systems, agriculture and livestock sectors, says Deputy Minister of Construction

It is necessary to promote the development of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), cooperative systems, agriculture, and livestock sectors in the process of reconstruction and construction, said U Myo Myint, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Construction. On July 22, U Myo Myint, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Construction, accompanied by the Minister of Municipal Affairs of the Chin State Government, members of the Chin State Reconstruction and Resettlement Committee, and members of the Working Committee, visited government offices in Falam Township, Chin State, and observed the performance of the staff. The Deputy Minister and his delegation inspected the Fire Brigade office, the District Department of Rural Development office, the District Development Supervision office, and the staff housing of the officials and employees in Falam Township. It is known that 38 departmental offices have been opened in Falam Township, and 1,397 officials and employees, including health and education staff, are carrying out their duties. In Falam, Tiddim, and Ton Zang townships, 110 departmental offices have been opened, and 4,003 officials and employees, including health and education staff, are carrying out departmental duties. Subsequently, the Deputy Minister and his delegation held a coordination meeting with district and township level departmental officials and working committee members regarding the reconstruction and resettlement activities in Falam Township. At the meeting, the Deputy Minister stated that district and township level departments need to work together in all sectors for reconstruction and resettlement. He added that reconstruction and resettlement involve not only the repair and construction of offices, hospitals, and schools, but also the promotion of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), cooperative systems, agriculture, and livestock sectors. He also mentioned that he had visited Chin State and conducted detailed ground surveys down to the grassroots level, and that tasks to be carried out according to priority for reconstruction and resettlement are being implemented. He also stated that the Chin State Reconstruction and Resettlement Committee has been formed at the state, district, and township levels and assigned responsibilities. He further stated that district and township level departmental officials who are not part of the working committee must also cooperate and participate in the development of Falam Township. Following this, district and township level working committee members and departmental officials attending the meeting explained the progress of their respective sectors and their future work plans for the reconstruction and resettlement of Falam Township. Similarly, on July 23, U Myo Myint, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Construction, accompanied by the Minister of Municipal Affairs of the Chin State Government, and members of the Chin State Reconstruction and Resettlement Committee and Working Committee, visited the Border Area Ethnic Youth Development Training School and attended a briefing on the stages of work to be carried out in the repair and construction of buildings, held at the District General Administration Department office. The Border Area Ethnic Youth Development Training School (Falam) was temporarily opened as a preparatory school in 2003 at the Theravada Buddhist Center in Falam Township, and was relocated to an area of 7.451 acres in the Kyin Mwar Ward of Falam Township in 2004. The school is responsible for the education and training of students from middle school to high school graduation.
