The Myanmar Youth Development Association (MYDA) has proposed to the Speaker of the Pyithu Hluttaw the enactment of the "Myanmar Youth Development Law" for the comprehensive development of the youth sector, according to information received from the association. It is known that the Chairman of the Myanmar Youth Development Association (MYDA) (Central), U Zaw Myo Aung, Senior Advisor U Sithu, Secretary Daw Kyi Sin Shwe, Finance Officer Daw Khin Hnin Htet Aung, and Central Executive Committee members U Han Htun Oo, U Nyan Htin Lin, U Aung San Win, and U Ko Ko Aung visited and observed the proceedings of the 22nd day of the second regular session of the third Pyithu Hluttaw on the morning of July 13, 2026. Subsequently, Speaker of the Pyithu Hluttaw U Khin Ree received and held discussions with the executive committee members and media team from the Myanmar Youth Development Association (MYDA) (Central) who visited the Pyithu Hluttaw at the meeting hall on the second floor of the Pyithu Hluttaw (C) Building, and provided a detailed explanation of the Pyithu Hluttaw's functions and legislative knowledge. During the meeting and discussion, Chairman of the Myanmar Youth Development Association (MYDA) (Central), U Zaw Myo Aung, discussed the association's past activities for national development and youth sector development, and stated that they are ready to participate in national and youth development activities in cooperation with relevant organizations in the future. He also discussed and proposed matters related to enabling youth members from various states and regions to visit the Hluttaw. In order to create a legal framework that can comprehensively implement youth development activities in Myanmar, the Myanmar Youth Development Association (MYDA) proposed and discussed the "Myanmar Youth Development Law." It was emphasized and proposed that although the Myanmar Youth Central Committee, Myanmar Youth Affairs Committee, State and Region Youth Affairs Committees, and the Ministry of Youth Affairs have been established in Myanmar and are implementing policies and action plans related to youth development, a separate "Myanmar Youth Development Law" that can legally guarantee youth development is still needed. Matters proposed to be included in the law include enabling youth to meaningfully participate in the formulation and implementation processes of national development policies, establishing a National Youth Development Fund to support youth entrepreneurship, promoting education, leadership, entrepreneurship, job creation, and skills in digital technology and Artificial Intelligence (AI), and building a sustainable framework for effective coordination and implementation of youth development activities nationwide, including youth and peace, and international cooperation. Furthermore, MYDA also proposed that it is ready to fully cooperate and support the legislative process by consolidating and presenting the views and suggestions of youth across the country, researching and studying the laws and procedures related to youth in ASEAN countries, preparing and presenting comparative policy research papers, promoting cooperation between universities and youth organizations, and conducting legal awareness activities among the public. The Myanmar Youth Development Association (MYDA) believes that if the "Myanmar Youth Development Law" is enacted, a national-level long-term framework will emerge to systematically develop Myanmar's youth as future leaders, professionals, entrepreneurs, innovators, and responsible citizens, and that it will further promote the meaningful participation of youth in the country's sustainable development processes. It is known that the Speaker of the Pyithu Hluttaw U Khin Ree, Deputy Speaker U Maung Maung Aung, officials from the Pyithu Hluttaw, Chairman of the Myanmar Youth Development Association (MYDA) (Central) U Zaw Myo Aung, Senior Advisor U Sithu, Secretary Daw Kyi Sin Shwe, central executive committee members, and media representatives attended the meeting and courtesy call.
